La sculpture manuélienne décorative s'italianise et perd de son opulence (Monastère de Belem 1517). Le style de la Première Renaissance Française est introduit à Coïmbra par trois français formés à Gaillon et Rouen : N. Chantrène, Jean de Rouen et Philippe Oudart : couvent de Santa-Cruz (Portail, tombeau, chaire).
